An Anniversary, an Open House, and a Sashiko Subscription

Wow. Ten years. When I started selling online in 2005 I had my own website and an eBay store. Both are gone now, I closed them after starting my Etsy shop. There have been a lot of changes to Etsy–they went corporate awhile back–but some changes have been helpful and we’ve seen my tiny business grow to something exciting and much bigger.

Our Open House will be on Saturday, December 9 in Alameda, CA. Details are on our Facebook Events page and Eventbrite. No need to print a ticket, just show up. All the inventory we can’t fit into a quilt show booth or have time to upload to our Etsy shop will be at your fingertips, including sale items, new fabrics, and useful notions, all imported from Japan.

The Kimonomomo Sashiko Subscription Box (beta) launched late last month and sold out within 24 hours. My daughter and I are designing the January box right now, and I have plans for February and April already set. Some boxes will be simple, a preprinted kit with thread, for example, but others will be kits we design in-house, specifically for each month.

That’s it for right now, more news on the way soon as we have so many projects in the works!
