We have a winner and new giveaway for June

Congratulations to Wendy, owner of The Pattern Stash, winner of the fabric giveaway for May! I hope she will find many wonderful uses for her new fabrics.

The next fabric giveaway will be picked at random on Tuesday, June 10 at midnight. That means you have until 11:59 pm Pacific time on Tuesday to post a reply anywhere on the blog to be entered to win. The giveaway for June will be a sashiko kit, including fabric, needles, a thimble and a skien of thread, all made by Olympus of Japan. The indigo blue fabric has a pre-printed asa-no-ha (hemp leaf) design that can be washed out easily after the fabric has been stitched. I have several kits like this in my Etsy shop in case you’d rather not wait until June. They are very simple and fun to do, even if you have no prior sashiko experience.

So post early, post often, and keep reading!

I would love to try this if the instructions are in English. Please enter me and thanks for having the contest.

  3. The instructions are in Japanese, but they are fairly simple to deduce. There are also many books in English that teach sashiko step by step. I have one in my shop, and there are probably a few at your local library.

Oh, awesome! I’ve wanted to try sashiko since I saw it in your shop, but haven’t had the time or cash. 😥 And you put together a whole kit, too! That should be fun for whoever gets it.

Thanks so much for the beautiful fabric I won in May’s giveaway! Now I try to come up with a project worthy of it…
